Edward Hampton, 30, of Providence RI, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI.
Born in Newport, RI on December 10, 1987, he was the son of Claude Hampton Jr. and Michelle D. Carter.
Before moving to Providence, RI in 2010, Claude, better known as Eddie, Kendrick, Fatty, or Fred, was a long time resident of Newport, RI.
Eddie attended and graduated Rogers High School in Newport, RI.
Eddie is survived by his grandparents, Glenda Thomas, Betty Hampton, and Claude Hampton Sr. His 6 siblings, Marcus Sampson, Claudesha Hampton, Ty-Juan Carter, Antoine Carter, Benjamin Lopes, and Kevin Lopes. His 10 nieces and nephews, Elsiana Ramos, Elson Marcos, Ellecia Hampton, Lyriq Hampton, Harmony Hampton, Symphanie French, Jayceon Carter, Kaysen Carter, Amyah Carter, and Rayjon Carter.
Eddie leaves behind his 4 children, Javanni Leander, Alejandro Hampton-Leander, Ty-Juan Hampton, Faith M. Hampton, and their mother Teal Hampton.
Eddie also leaves behind his life partner, Elimar Laureano, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eddie is preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Carter.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Bell Funeral Home, 571 Broad Street, Providence RI, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The family requests the funeral services be held private, while the repast will be open to all who knew and loved Eddie. The repast will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Park Holm Senior Center, 1 Eisenhower Street, Newport RI, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The family asks that flowers be brought or sent to the Bell Funeral Home.
