Basil G. Kokoletsos of Barton passed way on Saturday February 11th, 2017 in Newport, VT.? He was born on June 15th in Thessaloniki, Greece and was the son of George and Olympia?(Rodopoulos) Kokoletsos.?Basil came to the United States to attend Illinois Institute of Technology on a scholarship and?received a degree in electrical engineering.?On December 23rd 1957 he married Marcella Nobile in Chicago. Besides his wife he is survived?by his two daughters, Nicole Akiki and her husband Sam of Allendale, NJ and Noelle Crane and her?husband Marshall of Ridgewood, NJ and his grandchildren Athena, Christiana, Anthony and Christian?Akiki., Mitchell and Nicholas Crane, his brother Theodore Kokoletsos and sister-in-law Soula of?Vouliagmeni, Greece and nephews George and Gus.?Basil served in the United States Army in Korea. In the 1970's he founded Strongwall Industries?in Ridgewood, NJ retiring in 2005. Basil vacationed in Barton and retired here in 2010. He loved?outdoors and enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, skiing and hiking.?A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Spring at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Barton,?Vt. with the Rev.
