I'm saddened to hear of Paul's sudden passing. I knew Paul from St. Michael's College, we were roommates for a summer there, and we shared mutual friends. Paul was always a kind, gentle guy. After I graduated from college, I later reached out to him because I had thought about pursuing medicine, and he graciously helped me out in navigating the process. We lost a kind soul and a wonderful physician.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear this news! I played trombone with Paul at Saint Mike's and he was such a sweet, funny and kind person! He was the kind of person who would never say a bad word about anybody. It makes sense he devoted his life to helping others. My deepest sympathies to Paul's family and close friends!

Paul was a force of good. He was a kind person with a brilliant mind and an unreal level of dedication and work ethic. By his own words, he became a doctor because he wanted to help people.

I was the lucky one that got to have him as a best friend. Paul was my kindred spirit.

His time on Earth was far too short...It doesn't fit in my mind that he had to leave us. Everyone that knew him seemed to love him and was awestruck at his achievements. I should know most of all. I was there, watching the steps of his journey, as he climbed tirelessly into his rightful place.

Despite the challenges Paul took on, he always had a smile on his face. He was always calm, collected and certain of his next goal. He never said a bad thing about anyone. All of this, and a sense a humor too. I ought to learn from his example.

Paul is going to stay with me, in my mind and in my heart.

I realize I'll never be able to truly convey how much I loved and respected Paul, and how hard it is to accept his leaving us all so.. so.. so.. too soon.
Paul was/is my son Brendan's best friend from St. Mike's. I remember clearly the day we met him and Karen and had know idea how close we would all become.

I feel honored to have gotten to know him so well, and so glad he and Brendan became such fast friends. The alternating shared vacations were good for keeping me connected with Karen and Jim. And the good thing about their on-line friendship is I could often join into their on-line chats and have a quick catch up chat with Paul frequently.

We followed his grad school success, persistence to get his residency and really begin his life's work. It's hard to say what impressed me most about Paul, certainly his smarts and work ethic, but maybe more, his positive attitude. He not only overcame his challenges, he did it with such optimism.
His great outlook on life was/is infectious. He's such a beacon of life and love.

As I said, I'm having trouble accepting this lost, hence the "was/is" conflict.
Paul “IS” still with Brendan, Sue and I, and always will be.

When I would run into Paul in the hallways of the medical school at UVM, he was chipper in a way that is difficult to describe. He was always pushing through the difficulties that medical school entailed and lifted me and other up when we needed an emotional boost to get through that next hour of studying. As the only two medical students from the Northeast Kingdom during most of our time at medical school, seeing and chatting with Paul helped me stay oriented to the values of the Kingdom which was invaluable for me. He was an excellent doctor and will be missed. My thoughts are prayers are with his family and loved ones.

My sincere condolences to family and friends of Paul Jarvis. I was one of the fortunate ones to have gotten to work alongside Paul during his time as a Neurology Resident, as well as, getting to know him as a friend and fellow colleague. Paul was proud to practice Neurology and his interest in the work showed via the dedication he put into his efforts to do whats right for the patient. I can proudly say that in our time together, Paul and I saved many lives and that effort will never be forgotten. He was a team player, avid thinker and friendly personality. It was heartbreaking to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace, thanks for letting us be a small part of your life Paul. You will always be missed.

Paul was a student of mine at St. Mikes, and did research with me and Dr. Greta Pangborn on DNA self-assembly. He had such a quick and insightful mind, and was such a pleasure to work with. He left a bit of mathematical legacy behind in his work, and left a huge impression in our hearts. I will miss him, and keep him in my prayers.

Paul was my fellow intern during our first month of residency, a challenging time of transition when you really need strong supports around you. I couldn't have asked for a better, nicer guy to have in the trenches with me during that time. His passion for being a neurologist was apparent, and his determination in reaching that stage of his career was admirable. He would often speak of his family, and particularly delighted in his role as an uncle. I was heartbroken to hear of his passing, and extend my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
