Ayanna Swain Obituary
URBANA - Ayanna K. Swain, 43, of Houston, formerly of Urbana, died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chruch of the Living God, 312 E. Bradley Ave., C. Pastor James Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 1215 W. Bradley Ave., U, is in charge of arrangements.

The world has lost a gracious heart. Ayanna has been missed at the University since she left for Houston. I will miss our occasional chats. I wish now that they were more often. She was a very considerate and caring person. She gave of herself, often times making a sacrifice. She was also very stubborn and passionate and never wanted to put her burden on others. She was loyal and a genuine friend. She often proudly boasted of her kids, both her own and "her kids" at Don Moyers. A proud mom and community servant. She was fun to have as a coworker with a welcome smile and great sense of humor. I will miss Ayanna!
