Charles Perry Obituary

EFFINGHAM – Charles Eugene Perry Sr., 68, of Effingham, formerly of Beecher City, passed away at 1:57 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City. Dr. David Armstrong will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Beecher City Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Charles Perry Trust in care of First State Bank of Beecher City. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com.

Mr. Perry was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Mahomet, the son of Ivan and Ersie Gaines Perry.

He was an independent over-the-road truck driver and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Beecher City.

He married Marva Jean Frailey on Nov. 4, 1983, and she survives.

Also surviving are sons, Curtis and wife Lisa of Rockville, Ind., and Gene and wife Brenda of Lafayette, Ind.; daughters, Melinda Neff and husband Brian of Georgetown, and Leanna Fitzgerald and husband Dan of Vincennes, Ind.; stepsons, David Childress and wife Janine, and Philip Childress and wife Denise, all of Beecher City; brothers, Bill Perry and wife Bonnie of Veedersburg, Ind., Dave Perry and wife Andrea of Homer, Jimmy Perry and wife Teresa of Champaign, Danny Perry of Champaign and Allen Perry of Veedersburg, Ind.; sisters, Beverly Saunders, and Susie Cox and husband Gary, all of Veedersburg, Ind.; over 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda; brother, Duane; sisters, Theda and Rosemarie; and sister-in-law, Diane.
