CHAMPAIGN – Clifford Cameron, 81, of Champaign passed away at 2 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Cliff was the youngest of 10 children born to Edward Oliver Cameron and Nora Ann Quicksall Cameron. He was born on December 4, 1927, in Trowbridge. He married Opal Teresa Hanson on May 6, 1950, in Paxton. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, EllenSue Cameron of Champaign; and two granddaughters, Michelle Ann Buchanan Haussermann and her husband, Mark, of Lake Forest and Natalie Sue Buchanan Rajcevich and her husband, Mark, of Geneva, Ill.; four great-grandchildren, Timothy Cameron Haussermann, Evan Shapland Haussermann and twins Ashley Kendall Rajcevich and Cameron Lily Rajcevich; one sister, Vera Cameron Cannon of Champaign; 29 nieces and nephews; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Cliff was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and was a lifetime member of Carpenters Local 44 of Champaign. He retired in 1990 as Superintendent of English Brothers Construction Company of Champaign.
Cliff was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was an avid Illini basketball fan and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church, 509 S. Mattis Ave., C, with the Rev. Mark Elliott officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
