Craig Trotter Obituary

URBANA - Craig J. (Joe T.) Trotter, 90, of Urbana passed away Feb. 9, 2023, at home.

He was born April 30, 1932, in Champaign, a son of John and Hazel (Meier) Trotter. He attended Champaign schools. He married Lenora J. Paul on Aug. 8, 1970. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, Leslie Trotter Sr. and Thomas (Kathy) Trotter, both of Champaign; and several grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Trotter worked for many years at Thompson Lumber and later retired from Hundman Lumber. He also worked for Schnucks in Urbana. He was an Army veteran. Joe was a life member, past commander and sergeant at arms at American Legion Post 71 in Urbana. He also held positions in the Fourth Division and 19th District state levels. He was a life member and served as adviser for Squadron 71 of the Sons of the American Legion. He was also chairman of the Honor/Color Guard for Post 71.

A private family service is planned for a later date. There will be a celebration of life on April 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post 71, 107 N. Broadway Ave., Urbana.

In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the Gifts to the Yanks program through Post 71.

Worked with Joe at Thompsons Lumber. He was quiet the jokester. We also enjoyed some men´s slow pitch under his command. RIP Joe you were one of a kind
