WATSEKA - Delores Ann Knapp, 90, of Watseka passed away Sunday (March 17, 2024) at the Iroquois Resident Home, Watseka.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1933, in Roanoke, a daughter of Elmer J. and Naomi (Franks) Moser. Delores married Wayne D. Knapp in Roanoke on June 26, 1955, and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Joan (John) Cook of Watseka and Dawn (Tim) Burtch of Northville, Mich.; one son, Steven (Sondra) Knapp of Watseka; eight grandchildren, Adam (Deena) Knapp, Andrew (Jamie) Knapp, Alex (Natalie) Knapp, Matthew (Reilly) Cook, Bryan (Marika Couture) Cook, Elizabeth Elmendorf, Rachel Elmendorf and Ryan Elmendorf; and seven great-grandchildren, Hudson, Luke, Sophia and Oliver Knapp and Logan and Jackson Cook, with baby boy Knapp due this summer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Moser; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Kay Knapp.
Delores was a 1952 graduate of Roanoke High School and after graduation worked at the Woodford County Circuit Clerk's Office in Eureka for three years. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Cissna Park, Cissna Park American Legion Auxiliary and Iroquois Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, including the gift shop, for over 40 years. She loved to travel with her husband and family, especially to Door County, Wis. She helped out at Knapp Funeral Home for many years and enjoyed being outdoors. Delores loved the Lord and cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Apostolic Christian Church, Cissna Park, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Cissna Park.
