Dennis Askins Obituary

URBANA - Dennis Michael Askins, 80, of Danville died at 7:46 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1303 N. Walnut St., Danville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Father John Cyr will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery, Danville. Escort by Patriot Guard Riders. Military Honors for the Air Force veteran by American Legion Post 210. Rortvedt Funeral Services & Crematory, 3 S. Hodge St., Tilton, is in charge of arrangements.

Growing up with Shawn and Tyke, Mr. Askins was a major part of my childhood.
From his half court hook shots to teasing me for being short, Mr. Askins was one of a kind.

I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.
