CHAMPAIGN - Jason Thomas Hart was born Jan. 27, 1969, to Joye Ellen Hart (Rose) and Thomas Dale Hart. He was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday (Sept. 13, 2025).
Jason is survived by his wife, Julia Hart; daughter, Jarai Carter; father, Thomas Hart; sisters, Lori Nagele (Steve), Brenda Meislahn (Bill Graham) and Amy Rupert; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Wilma and Thomas (Fred) Rose; paternal grandparents, Maxine and Guy Hart; and his father-in-law, James Hansen.
He worked at the University of Illinois as a pipefitter foreman and operated Hart Speed & Custom. He was an amazing talented man and loved his family deeply. Jason was a one of a kind. A friend to everyone.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 149, 1005 N. Dunlap Ave., Savoy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Local 149 Apprentice Program or a charity of your choice.
