I was so lucky to get to know Jeannie when we attended the U of I. Our paths never crossed again but, 50+ years later, her smile and gentleness have not been forgotten. My condolences to her family and friends. She was truly a sweetheart!

You were an active and engaging young person on 8th Street and a perfect neighborhood street player.

I was saddened to hear today of Jeannie's death. She was a free spirit who loved life. Her life was filled with many outstanding accomplishments. This definitely leaves a big hole in the family. Her obituary highlights the fantastic events in her life. She met challenges head on and became an example of what could be achieved if you wanted it bad enough. May the Lord comfort the family at this time.

For over 60 years Jeanne´s been my favorite person. It went too fast and ended much too soon.

To all who loved her, condolences. Thank you for the "true to Jeanne´s spirit obituary ". We all loved reading her humorous Christmas letters and her blog. I was blessed to know her from childhood and to see her when possible on return trips to Illinois. Her family was everything. Thanks for the memories. She will be missed
