Kaye Greenwood Obituary
URBANA – Kaye L. Greenwood, age 66, of Urbana passed away at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 04, 2007 at home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2101 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign. The Rev. Edward Schneider will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy.
Ms. Greenwood was born April 29, 1941, in Fairmont, Minn., a daughter of Bjarne and Alice Della Ward Wolding.
Survivors include her son, Douglas Charles (Linda) Greenwood of Frankfort; three granddaughters, Ashley, Kali and Abby; one brother, Martin Wolding of Aurora; one sister, Karin (Arlan) Abel of Minneapolis; and 24 nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She received her bachelor's degree in business education from Illinois State University and worked in human resources at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul. The highlight of her career was testifying before the senate committees in Washington, D.C., and was successful in gaining a large budget increase for her base.
Ms. Greenwood was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was active in the Women of ELCA, Single Seniors and Faith in Action. She was also a member of the fraternal order of the Eagles and received "mother of the year" award from its ladies auxiliary.
Ms. Greenwood was an avid gardener and antique collector. She also had a love of cats.
Memorials may be made to the Mentoring Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 981, Champaign, IL 61824; Carle Hospice; or the American Lung Association.

Your journey through life was much too short. But now you are resting with the Lord, and all pain and suffering is over. You raised a boy into a fine young man, respected by his peer and loved by his family. May God's Grace shine on you always.

Having known Mrs. Greenwood for more than 30 years-her son Doug was a great childhood and college friend, I am sadden to hear of her passing. I wish to express my sincere condolensces to the Greenwood family. May her spirit live on in her son and grandchildren.
