BRISTOL, Ind. - Laura E. Rudicil, 64, of Bristol, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at home.
She was born in Bloomington, Ind., on March 23, 1961, to Gregory "Pete" Elmer and the late Roberta (Mullen) Blackburn.
In addition to her father, Laura is survived by her children, Colin (Caroline Phillips) and Ryan Rudicil; five grandchildren; her brothers, Robert "John" Elmer and John "Douglas" Elmer; and former spouse, Rick Rudicil.
Laura was a loving mother and a hard worker. She graduated from Concord High School in 1979, where she was a part of the school's marching band and was an avid member of the Ski Club. It was here that she developed a lifelong love of skiing. Laura later went on to earn her associate degree and worked as an X-ray technician for special procedures at Covenant Hospital and Goshen General Hospital for many years. She later worked at Sorg Jewelers in Elkhart, Ind., for a time as well.
Her sons meant the world to her, and she enjoyed taking family skiing trips. Laura and her family went to several different resorts together, mostly in Michigan, from Cadillac and Traverse City to the Upper Peninsula.
In her earlier years, those who knew her would describe her as an outgoing and fun person who enjoyed music and the occasional trip to Maui. Laura will be dearly missed.
Cremation was chosen and took place at Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart. A memorial service will be held on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 210 W. Church St., Champaign. All are welcome to attend.
