CHAMPAIGN – Marion "Hank" Clark, 75, of Champaign passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. John Lutheran Church, 509 South Mattis Ave., Champaign, with Rev. James Wright and Rev. Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy.
Mr. Clark was born on Aug. 21, 1933, near Sadorus. He was the son of Wilbur and Alta Lietz Clark. He married Doris Langhoff on Feb. 20, 1960, in Champaign. She survives. Also surviving are one son, David (Tina) Clark of Champaign; two daughters, Susan (Gary) Gehlbach of Sussex, Wis., and Karen (Robert) Brunner of Savoy; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Bill (Jackie) Clark of Urbana, Butch (Carol) Clark of Urbana, Wilbur (Sue Ann) Clark of Tolono, and Rich (Sue) Clark of Bement; four sisters, Phyllis (John) Seibert of Terrell, Texas, Mary Foley of Champaign, Nancy Rodgers of Rantoul and Jean (Roger) Clapp of Pesotum. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Bess Rodgers, and a brother Keith Clark.
Mr. Clark graduated from Unity High School, Tolono, in 1951. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a fast-pitch softball pitcher for many years. He retired from AT&T in 1991, then worked at Champaign Telephone Company. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
