MENDOTA - "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain," Philippians 1:21.
Mark A. Morris, 62, of Mendota was called home to be with the Lord on Friday (Oct. 18, 2024).
He was born on Aug. 29, 1962, in Danville, the son of William Morris (deceased) and Barbara (Courson) Morris. Mark married Marilyn Bushue on March 26, 1988, in Rankin.
Mark's loving family includes his wife, Marilyn; daughter Meghan Morris (deceased) and her children, Victoria Morris (deceased) and Charlotte Morris; son Bryant (Bethany) Morris, and their children, Maven, Luther, Mack, Penny, Hallie and Canon; daughter Abigael Morris; daughter Hannah (deceased) Cornwell (Blake) and their child, Baby Cornwell (deceased); son Adam (Kylee) Morris and their children, Baby Morris (deceased), Bennett and Adlee; his mother, Barbara Morris; brother, Mike (Brenda) Morris; sister, Julie (Rich) Hood; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark spent his life in agriculture, first farming with his late father, William, then working for Corteva Agriscience for 25 years. He enjoyed watching basketball and football, rooting for his favorite teams, the Fighting Illini and Chicago Bears. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Faith, family and agriculture were the greatest joys of his life.
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord," Romans 8:38-39.
We invite you to attend Mark's celebration of life on Friday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mendota Civic Center, 1901 Tom Merwin Drive, Mendota, IL 61342. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Mendota FFA, Fellowship of Christian Farmers or Grace Fellowship Church in Sublette. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Mark is my brother-in-law. He was a wonderful man who loved deeply his family. Although quiet, his actions spoke for him always. He was always willing to help and to give and to advise. He was handy, a great cook, a good card player and a great Dad. He is going to be very much missed but he has left an amazing legacy with his family who will continue to make him proud. He will continued to be loved and appreciated. Mark, indeed, heard those precious works which we all strive to hear - "Well done - good and faithful servant".

I worked with Mark for several years and Marilyn for a couple summers pollinating corn. So long ago. I send my deepest sympathy to Marks family and friends.
