ATWOOD - Meaghan Genevieve Buhrmester was born Dec. 13, 1994, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, and died July 12, 2025.
She lived in Atwood and attended school there as well. She spent her last year of high school in Van Buren, Maine. After graduation, she returned to Illinois.
Meaghan is survived by her mother, Rachelle Levesque-Tewell; brother, Johnathan Buhrmester and his children, Cash Arwine-Buhrmester and Everis Buhrmester; her maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles; aunts; cousins; great-aunts and -uncles; and many friends. There are way too many to mention, all considered family.
Meaghan was preceded in death by her Daddy, Dean Allen Buhrmester of Watseka and Kankakee; aunt, Rebecca (Becky) Burmester; step-grandparents; Roger (Bie) Clavette, Bernadette Desjardins, Tom Frink, Debbie Buhrmester and Cathy Buhrmester; all her great-grandparents on all sides; as well as her mom's adopted little brother, Marc-Andre Clavette.
Meaghan was an amazing CNA and phlebotomist. She had a heart of gold and loved everyone. She was selfless, thoughtful, kind, stubborn as a mule and cussed so much she could make a Fly-Boy blush. Strangers were friends she just hadn't met yet. She always made us appreciate the small things in life like crazy socks, fidget toys and squishmallows. She enjoyed outings with her family and spending time with them and her friends. She also enjoyed her time with the dogs.
Remember her fondly. She is the wind that blows. She is the unique snowflake when it snows. She is the songbird singing. She is the butterfly wing. She is the warmth of the sun. She is the kisses from the rain. May she rest well with the angels and look out for all of us. Remember her well and smile. Do something kind for someone, do something goofy and loving in her memory. She will be right there watching.
Please join her family in sharing memories, photos and videos on her tribute wall at sunsetfuneralhome.com.
