ST. JOSEPH - Melissa D. Siegmund, 54, of St. Joseph passed away Friday (May 2, 2025).
She was born March 6, 1971, in Park Ridge, the daughter of Gary E. and Patricia L. Ohlson. She married Delbert "Del" Siegmund on June 3, 1997, on Amelia Island, Fla. He survives.
She is also survived by her children, Grant Siegmund of Urbana and Paige Siegmund of St. Joseph; parents, Gary and Pat Ohlson of Urbana; sister, Rebecca (Chris) Graebert of East China, Mich.; and niece, Amaya Graebert.
Melissa worked as a pharmacist in the area. She was the valedictorian of her pharmacy class. She also served as a poison-prevention educator and a 4-H Club leader for many years.
She was a nature lover and birdwatcher. Melissa was skilled in the fine and fiber arts, especially painting and knitting. She was a member of the Champaign-Urbana Spinners and Weavers Guild as well as a supporter of the St. Joseph-Ogden Fine Arts Booster Club.
Melissa was an incredibly giving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her presence will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A private family service will be held.

We are so saddened to hear! We were so delighted to see her and her "chipperness" again recently at my Parents' Anniversary Party!
