MONTICELLO - Michael Scott Bailey, 40, of Monticello passed away at 9:41 a.m. Saturday (July 13, 2024) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Michael was born on Sept. 25, 1983, in Urbana, the son of Scott and Chris (Pankau) Bailey. He married Tara Williams on Oct. 14, 2006, in Champaign.
Michael is survived by his wife, Tara Bailey of Monticello; children, JD, Jax, Leena and Cora Bailey, all of Monticello; parents, Scott and Chris Bailey of Monticello; grandfather, Herschel Bailey of Monticello; and brothers, Patrick (Nikki) Bailey of Monticello, Nick (Ella) Bailey of Monticello and Andrew (fiancée Mindy Rogers) of Champaign.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Pankau and Karen Bailey; and mother-in-law, Carol Ann Williams.
Michael was the manager of Illinois Meter in Urbana. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Monticello and the Knights of Columbus. Michael enjoyed playing guitar, singing and playing in a band with his dad. He was an artist, loved music, going to concerts and vacationing at the beach. His greatest joy was watching his children play sports.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 19, at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Monticello. A funeral Mass will be at noon. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Monticello Athletic Boosters. Condolences may be sent to the family at mackey-wrightfuneralhome.com.

Always a friend of our family, and often helped-in whatever needed to be done. A real treasure watching Michael and Trent growing up together. Deepest condolences to Scott, Chris, Tara, and the entire family.
