Nadene Sebens Obituary

ATWOOD - Nadene L. Sebens, 99, of Atwood passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello. 

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood. Officiating will be a friend of the family, Jerry Reeder. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, is handling the arrangements.

Nadene was born on Aug. 6, 1926, to Raymond J. and Irene Woods. She married Lowell Sebens on Aug. 14, 1949, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her two sons, Gary Sebens and wife Anita of Warrensburg and L. Mike Sebens and wife Judy of Champaign; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Browning and husband Mark, Shelby Spears and husband Jonathan and Dr. Matthew Sebens and wife Erin; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one granddaughter. 

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association

Nadene was a teacher, homemaker and bank employee. She retired from the Atwood State Bank as a vice president. She also served as township clerk for Garrett Township. She thoroughly enjoyed family meals and getting together with her family.
