NORMAL - Nancy Susedik, 87, passed away on Aug. 16, 2025, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Nancy was born on Jan. 21, 1938, in Paxton, the beloved daughter of Allison and Elizabeth (Whitehurst) Ireland. Nancy graduated from Bloomington High School and earned a bachelor of science from Illinois State Normal University, with a focus on teaching home economics. She later shared her knowledge of nutrition with nursing students at the Carle Clinic in Champaign, leaving a lasting impact on those she taught. Nancy also gave generously of her time through volunteer organizations and was a member of the McLean County extension. Nancy spent all of her life learning new things.

Nancy's gentle spirit and steady warmth will be deeply missed by her son, Michael (Erin) Susedik; and her siblings, Mary (Ireland) Schwartz, Rita (Ireland) Curry and Mike (Sandy) Ireland.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tony; son David; her parents; and her sister, Jane (Ireland) Barth.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Calvert Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. A graveside service to honor and remember Nancy's life will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Grandview Cemetery in Champaign.
