FARMER CITY - Philip J. West, 82, of Farmer City, passed away on Nov. 9 after a battle with leukemia.
Phil was born on Nov. 5, 1940, to Dorothy Reddy and James West in Bloomington.
After Phil graduated from Moore Township High School in 1959, he went on to join the military, take over his family farm, and marry his high school sweetheart, Audrey Lamb.
Phil and Audrey went on to have two children, Barbie and Tom.
Phil was so much more than just a husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a soldier, farmer, baker, line dancer, and historian. He enjoyed country music and gardening to feed a village. He was a regular at American Legion fish and chicken fries.
He was a friend to everyone that met him. He was an honest man of integrity.
Phil is survived by his wife, Audrey West; brother John (Mary) West; son Tom (Crispi) West and daughter Barbie (Todd) Burns; and grandchildren Iain (Tanvir), Addie, and Payton Burns, and Joseph West.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Farmer City Woodlawn Country Club on Nov. 27 from 2-5 p.m.
He is now gone, but will never be forgotten.

We will miss seeing cousin Phil and Audrey at reunions or just to meet on the street. Always fun to talk to them about the ornery West clan.

Phil was a great guy who would do anything for anyone. He will be missed by anyone who knew him. His wife Audrey is a very nice lady who treats everyone like she has known you for life..
