Robert Lane Obituary

LODGE - Robert W. Lane, 87, of Lodge passed away at 5 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 15, 2025) at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

Bob was born on April 11, 1938, in Champaign, the son of Robert Owen and Edith Frances (Dalton) Lane. He married Roberta I. Peterson on April 15, 1956, in Lodge. She passed away on June 5, 2022.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Tish Lane of Lodge and Tonya (Chris) Yaden of Lodge; sons, Rocky (Shelia) Lane of Monticello, Stoney (Erin) Lane of Monticello and Jeremy Lane of Monticello; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Carl Lane.

Bob was a heavy-equipment operator and a pastor.

He was a member of the Lodge Church of God and Local 841. Bob enjoyed gospel music, singing in the quartet, tending to his mules and horses, and being an auctioneer.         

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Lodge Church of God or Town Square Hospice.
