Sarah "Sally" Eissfeldt

VIROQUA, Wis. - Sarah Kathryn "Sally" Stocks Eissfeldt, 76, of Champaign passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, with grace, love and Motown playing in the background. Sally left this world on her own terms. A mother, sister, business owner and friend, she lived with fierce independence, deep compassion and unwavering kindness.

She was born in Champaign on Nov. 4, 1948, to Joseph Homer Stocks Sr. and Zelma Susan Miller. After graduating from Champaign Central High School in 1966, she attended Illinois College in Jacksonville.

She is survived by her children, Andrew Eissfeldt, Jennifer Eissfeldt and husband Michael and their children, Esther and Frances, and Scott Eissfeldt and wife Megan and their child, Eloise. She also leaves behind countless lifelong friends and chosen family who were fortunate to know her generous spirit.

Sally spent most of her adult life in Champaign, where she raised three children and was a mother to many more. She built and led a successful property management business for over 30 years. Her leadership and dedication to the local housing community were reflected in her service as president of the apartment association and her long-standing membership in the Champaign County Association of Realtors.

She loved her community and was a familiar and friendly presence while walking her beloved cocker spaniels, Lady and Matilda, through the neighborhood. Those daily walks were a source of peace and connection, and she cherished the relationships built along the way.

A passionate traveler, Sally explored the world with her closest friends, collecting stories and laughter wherever she went. Even in the face of hardship, after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which spread to her brain, she found strength in supporting others with similar diagnoses. She offered her time and presence with humility and care, providing quiet comfort to many in their own journeys.

Gathering for a celebration of life for Sarah Eissfeldt will be held from Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, from noon to 3 p.m. at  Papa Dell's, main room, 121 S. Neil St., Champaign. Stories, laughter and memories are encouraged-it will mean so much to be together.

In lieu of flowers, please raise a glass, play some Marvin Gaye, and hug your loved ones - just as Sally would have wanted.
