Shirley Fenton Obituary
CLINTON - Shirley Catherine Fenton, 68, of Weldon, passed away 7:38 a.m. Oct. 15, 2025, in rural Fisher.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, with the Rev. Gary L. Fairchild officiating. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the Weldon United Methodist Church.
Shirley was born Sept. 21, 1957, in Clinton, the daughter of Billy "Silo" and Donna (Willis) Stone. She married John L. Fenton Sr. on June 12, 1976, in Weldon.
Survivors include her husband, John L. Fenton Sr. of Weldon; children John (Christina) Fenton Jr. of Clinton, Jeremy Fenton of Decatur, Joseph ( Devon) Fenton of Clinton; seven grandchildren and one on the way; siblings Mary Harpster of Lake Charles, La., Vonna Sue Gaines of Sidney, Lois Ann Potter of Branchland, W.Va., and Billy (Sabrina) Stone Jr. of Clinton.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jacob Henry Fenton, and sister Kathleen "Leenie" Frick.
Shirley worked in the postal service for 37 years; in the last 15 years, she was the postmaster in Fisher. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren.
