Terry Zahnd Obituary

FARMER CITY - Terry Lee Zahnd, 72, of Farmer City, passed away Friday (Feb. 2, 2024) at OSF Transitional Care Hospital, Peoria.

He was born on May 30, 1951, a son of Herschel and Elda (Eiskamp) Zahnd.

Terry is survived by his daughters Jenny (Joe) Frank of Clinton and Sara Hethke of Farmer City; three grandsons, Nick and Tyler Bales and Darrell Hethke; two brothers, Mark (Donna) Zahnd of Dewey and Lyle (Nancy) Zahnd of Fisher; 19 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Zahnd, his parents, and two brothers Kenny and Darrell Zahnd.

Throughout his life he worked as a truck driver and farmer. He worked all of his life to make sure his family had everything they needed. His hobby was always planting a vegetable garden every spring.

Terry will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life is scheduled for Terry and Mary Zahnd on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Hessel Park Christian Reformed Church at 700 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Our family would like to thank Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana and OSF Transitional Care Hospital in Peoria for the care given the last four months. Final resting place for Mary and Terry will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in rural Pesotum.
