Audrey and Svec Obituary

A Celebration of Life will be conducted in memory of both Audrey Svec and Joseph Svec 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Huntsburg Town Hall, 16534 Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Audrey Marcella Carraher Svec, born April 9, 1925, in Hartsgrove, was the daughter of the late George Carraher and Sophia Walters Carraher. She passed away on June 16, 2008. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosamond Carraher and Georgia Carraher Caruso; and two brothers, Richard Carraher and James Carraher. Joseph Jacob Svec born Oct. 10, 1917, in Cleveland, was the son of the late Joseph Svec and Frances Slehover Svec. He passed away Dec. 29, 2009. He was preceded in death by Audrey, his spouse of 61 years; and a sister, Margaret Vanac. Subsequent to his death, his sister, Dorothy Welich passed away in Redford, Mich. The Svecs are survived by a son, Joseph G. Svec of Kenai, Alaska; daughter, Cyndy Kelly (Bruce) of Chesterfield, Va.; sister, Vera Riha of Montville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The informal Celebration of Life will be followed by a commemoration of Mr. Svec's World War II military service. Afterward friends and family are encouraged to join in the social hall for beverages and desserts.

I can still see Joe puttering around in his garden and Audrey feeding the squirrels. They have been gone from Grand River for nearly 3 years, but their memory lingers on. R.I.P. you two.
