David Sasak Obituary

David E. Sasak, 61, of Mayfield Heights, passed away June 13, 2011, at Hillcrest Hospital.
Born Feb. 26, 1950, in Warren, he had lived there before moving to Mayfield Heights 58 years ago.
He was a Mayfield Heights councilman for the past six years. Dave graduated from Mayfield High School in 1968 and from Cleveland State University with a engineering degree. Dave loved sailing and working on cars. He was a dedicated council member, avid sailor, generous and giving of his time to his community and had a tireless family devotion.
Dave was a mechanical engineer for Bowden Manufacturing.
He was the loving father of Richard W. (fiancee, Krista Krainz) and Russell D.; son of Kathryn (Applequist) Sasak; brother of James J. of Grand River, Kenneth of Mayfield Heights, and Kathy Sasak-Lindholm (husband, David) of Colorado; and uncle of Kristen Lindholm.
He was preceded in death his wife, Gayle C. (Grau); and father, William Sasak.
A tribute service in Dave's memory to celebrate his life will take place 4 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91). Cremation will be handled by DeJohn Crematory.
Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the funeral home prior to the service.
