David Wunderle Obituary

David Michael Wunderle, Sr., age 77, passed away October 29, 2021 in Chardon. Born December 20, 1943 in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Chardon for over the past 20 years. David was a Welding Instructor with Lincoln Electric, retiring after 37 years. He later became a Welding Instructor for Airgas traveling all over the World. David was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, earning the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge. He was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Chesterland for the past 34 years. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and also singing in the Grateful Praise Choir. David’s greatest love was his family and he made it a priority to attend all of his children’s and grandchildren’s events. He also enjoyed traveling and sports. David was known by all for having a zest for life and never wanting to call anybody he met a stranger. He is survived by his beloved wife Irene; children David Wunderle Jr. (Denae), Amy Lucci (Honorable Judge Eugene), Jenny Farinacci (Domenic), Stacey Johnson (John) and Jim Varner (Jodie); grandchildren Wyatt, West, Brandy (Nate) Young, Carly, Delaney, Gina (Tim) Britt, Nina (Christopher) Germano, Nick, Gia, Madison, Morgan, Donovan, Alexis and James; great-grandchildren Sofia, Alyson and Emma; brothers Tom Wunderle (Joan) and Bill Wunderle; sister Joanne Murray (Rob); and his loyal companion Little Sh#t. David is preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Wunderle; brother John Wunderle; and sisters Maureen Intorcio and Diane Newman. Family and friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland on Friday 1–3 and 5-7 pm. Memorial Service 11:00 am, Saturday November 6, 2021 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 12419 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026. (Masks recommended but not required.) A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held after the Memorial Service. The location will be announced at the end of the service. Private Interment at a later date in Fowlers Mill Cemetery, Munson Twp. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church (address above) or to a favorite charity of your choice. Whenever, we had a nice sunny day or the urge to head out to Benny Vino´s winery, it was always let´s call Dave n Irene who were ready to join in the fun. There were many nights we would meet at the Chardon Beverage fir dinner, of course Dave always reserved our favorite booth, he had pull. And Dave was always in good spirits which, put us all in a good mood. We sure have some great memories, n can´t say how much we miss you buddy. Love ya. Ken n Isobel

Dear Dave, The memories of watching the many sunsets from our balcony at Hilton Head, along with the evenings at your personal booth at Chardon Tavern & the Fun times at Benny Vino's Winery will never be forgotten. But most of all the Amazing Friendship we shared with you & Irene, will stay in our hearts forever. Dave We Love you and will miss you dearly.
