Deborah S. McMillan

Private family services were held for Deborah S. (nee Guerrero) McMillan, 62, of Chardon Township. Mrs. McMillan died Sept. 27, 2010, at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township. She was born Aug. 23, 1948, in East Cleveland and had lived there prior to moving to the Chardon area in 1976. She was self-employed and had also been a librarian for the Wickliffe Public Library and the Chardon Public Library. Mrs. McMillan earned an under graduate degree from John Carroll University; a master's degree in library science from Kent State University and received her law degree from Cleveland Marshall School of Law at Cleveland State University. She was a tireless supporter and advocate for animals, both domestic and wild, for her entire life. A deep and absolute lover of nature. Survivors are her husband, John "Jack" McMillan of Chardon Township, whom she married Sept. 15, 1974, in Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Kathy Connelly, Janet Klocinski and Mary Jo McMillan; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and cherished pets, Neptune, Hiawatha and Tommy. Her mother, Marie (Crimaldi) Guerrero; grandmother, Mary Crimaldi; mother-in-law, Ruth McMillan; brother-in-law, Mike McMillan; and sister-in-law, Sue Waxler, are deceased. Her beloved dog, Duke; and many numerous other companion animals, are also deceased. The family suggests contributions to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Kanab Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741.
