Frank Demeter Obituary
He was born on June 22, 1952, in Painesville and was a lifelong area resident.
Frank was owner and operator of Demeter Florist in Painesville. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, The Ohio State Alumni Assoc., and Harvey Alumni Assoc.
Survivors are his mother, Eleanor Demeter of Concord; daughter, Lyndsey Demeter of Fairport Harbor; sisters, Deborah (Mark) Kimbal of Big Lake, Minn. and Linda (Patrick) Patterson of Urbana, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank M. Demeter.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., (opposite Lake Erie College) Painesville.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville, Ohio 44077 with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Thru several generations, the Demeter's have been there for our family… for every important occasion. It has been an honor to know Frank as his customer, through the bank when I was worked there so long ago, then as a friend. Over the years, I could randomly call from Florida and catch up on news, while Frank created something for me- with great beauty and patience since I so often called last minute. Since he joined FaceBook and made a friend request, it's been great to see how well Frank has been doing, enjoying life, and keeping in touch even more. My heart breaks for his family- for every one's great loss.

So sorry to hear about Frank's passing. I worked at the flower shop while in high school and Frank would ride with me when we made deliveries, what a great time that was. I'll keep all of your in my prayers.

I have been wondering for days, since learning of Frank's passing, what could I say about this man that I've known for so many years... and the same thought comes to mind.... We have all lost a wonderful friend! I'll miss you, Frank!!! R.I.P.

Boy oh boy, I can't believe it because I just saw him at a Harvey High school event and he had a lot to talk about with his simple smile and gentle smile. Thank you Frank for being so true to your flower profession, career and keeping your business local. The Becks family has done business with the Demeter family for over (50) fifty years. Again, thank you and your family for your dedication. Frank will be missed and I hope the local business will continue to service the community. May God continue to comfort the family and friends.

Went all through St Mary with Frank and I had my very first credit account with his floral shoppe. It felt so grown up. He was fun to hang with at the ALB events and I enjoyed his Facebook quips and comments always. RIP.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news and offer my prayers to Mrs. Demeter and family. The Demeters were good friends and neighbors, and my fondest childhood memories are of spending time with them all. Frank taught me how to play baseball, how to play in the dirt, and all the tomboyish things I'm so glad I learned. God bless you all!

Although we never met personally, I grew up right down the street from the shop. Frank and I got acquainted on Facebook a couple years ago and had many pleasant chats. Mostly about how two people so close in age and location could not have known each other. I will miss him and offer my deepest condolences to his family.
