John Gump Obituary
Born July 15, 1944, in Pennsylvania, he had been a Mentor resident for the past 30 years.
Mr. Gump had been employed as a machinist at Parker Hanafin for 15 years before retiring in 2007. He had previously worked for Commercial Screw.
Survivors are his wife, Debra (nee Clark); children, Stacey (Michael) Chavira, Dina Evitts and Lori (Herb) Wilson; grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Ronnie, Haley, Paige, John, Courtney and Matthew; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Cuningham.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Hazel Gump; and siblings, Dorothy, Mary Louise, Shirley and Donald.
Private services were held.

I just heard of John's passing today while I was walking my dog at Chagrin River Park. This is where I met John about a year ago or so, and his two dogs, Chester and Charlie. The dogs would always stop and say hello to each other, and he always had a pat on the head and a treat for my dog. I had just seen him about a month ago or so. Very sorry for your loss.
