Neil Lawrence Obituary
He was the loving son of Delores and Neil Lawrence Sr.; brother of Melanie Johnson and Leslie Lawrence; and grandson of Estelene Lawrence and Isiah and Juanita Johnson. He also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday May 12, 2011, at The Calhoun Funeral Home, 17010 Lake Shore Blvd., where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

It’s been 10 years and I still can’t believe you’re gone, Neil you were a joy to be around I’ll always remember those days at study hall at brush high school where you would sit behind me and talk about anything that came to your mind the things that came out of your mouth mostly made me laugh and smile you were always something to look forward to in school and I’ll always treasure those memories of study hall together. Neil you were a wonderful person and I’m grateful to have known you and it was a pleasure to graduate brush high school alongside you ( I still have that infamous game I bought from you in senior year and I’ll always have It with me to honor your memory.) I know you’re in a better place looking down at all your loved ones like a guardian angel an angel that is missed everyday here on earth. I still til this day think of you! Neil u and I dated when I was in high school and you were such a teddy bear! Soo sweet loving and I used to love our talks on Skype late! Now after these past 8 yrs I miss your humor and your smile....Just you as an whole! Still til this day I love you ! And know your watching down on me ! I hope Im making you proud.

I remember when Neil jr aka Bunk was a baby and we use to play with u and hold you and boy u were so handsome and that was the memories i have i hate the fact that this tragedy happened that didnt have to happen and i missed out on you turning into a man people often take life for granted and sometimes lose touch and just go there own seperate ways but Bunk i know MRS DEE DEE and ILISA got your back and the LORD JESUS CHRIST and i want u to know that you were loved and still is by so many and u will Never be forgotten.

To the Lawrence family I send to you my deepest sympathy, for I to have been down this road. God doesn't want us to worry for he knows best!I promise if you trust God he will bring you through these dark hours back into the light. Yes it hurts for along time, it will ease and return but don't be afraid to call on the name of the Lord for he will comfort you, he has given both of you beautiful parents who love the lord and know that he is the answer for all that you deal with in this time of bereavement, for they to mourn the loss of their grandson.You both have siblings that will reach out to comfort you please don't close them out for they to mourn and hurt deeply for the loss of their nephew, they all want to share and extend true love to you and your family. I will leave you with this don't ask why but understand that God has chosen Neil Jr. to sit at the right side of him, for God had something better planned for him. Trouble don't last always for his love remains in your heart forever and Joy will come again!!!

Dear Lawrence family,
Niel and i go back to 7th grade football. I went to high school with him and we had the same study skills class and graduated together. I just herd this news tonight because i was away at school. Neil was a great friend and person. I am very sorry for loss for such a great soul. He was loyal and true. He always put a smile on my face because he was full of life. He will truly be missed. Dear Lawrence Family,
Neil was a young man that will truly, truly, truly be missed by my family.
What a wonderful homegoing Neil had.
Neil was the closest friend, that my son, Bernard had. Bernard loved Neil. So many times, if you saw Bernard, you saw Neil.
The last time I personally saw Neil was August 2010. He came to the house to help pack up the truck when we were sending Bernard off to college. Neil was always, always so respectful and positive and uplifting. He was just a joy to be around.
But, as much as he was loved here on earth, the Lord wanted and needed him more. It's so easy to ask why, but the Lord wants his best and brightest around him. We all know that we will see Neil again soon.
So Neil, as you sit at the right hand of our Lord, please know that there are so many of us waiting to come to see you. Just because you are not here, know that the love for you has not diminished but has grown even stronger.
With loving thoughts of a tremendous young man, to the Lawrences, may the Lord hold you and keep you in his loving arms.

Bunk was one of the best cousins to have, we were the closest in age and had much in common. I will always remember the times we had growing up. I love and miss you so much. Rest In Peace.

Neil,(Bunk) was like the older brother i never had. He taught me so much! He always had ah smile on his face, and kept the jokes comming. He was great at UNO, and i'll always cherish our bus rides to the fanily reunions. love always.

Our heartfelt condolences to Neil, Lois, Melanie and Leslie for the loss of Bunk (Neil Jr.). Words can not express how deeply saddened we are of his passing. I have great memories of him and KJ dancing last summer and them hanging out in the basement and Bunk laughing while KJ was learning to drive. He entertained his godbrother and was really a wonderful host to him while we were in Cleveland whenever we came over to visit. Neil & Lois you raised a stellar son and he will be watching over you all for the rest of your lives as your special guardian angel. Rely on your faith in GOD and keep those memories close to heart as comfort. We are praying with you and for you during this time and always.
