Peter P. Sherman

Peter P. Sherman, age 91, of Mentor, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Enclave of Newell Creek, Mentor. He was born August 25, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio.Mr. Sherman obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Carnegie Tech where he met his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Sherman, of 62 years. He also attended graduate school at University of Pittsburgh before entering the Army where he served in the Construction Battalion. After serving, Mr. Sherman worked as an Industrial Engineer for multiple companies including Pittsburgh Plate and Glass, Chase Brass, Antenna Specialists and Eaton Corporation. He was also an entrepreneur at heart and started multiple companies that covered a variety of industries. In addition, he was a longtime Scoutmaster for Troup 380 in Mentor and served on the BSA council for 25+ years. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church where he got to enjoy one of his great loves, singing. His love of singing continued into his later years where he was a member of the barbershop quartet The Johnnycake Ridge Singers. Survivors include his sons: Dr. Gregory (Linda) Sherman, Dr. Perry (Debbie) Sherman, Andrew (Minerva) Sherman and Daniel (Debra) Sherman; grandchildren: Peter, Ashley, Jamie, David, Sophia, Benjamin and Sydnee and 3 great-grandchildren Matthew, Maisie and Samir.He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years: Virginia (Ginny) A.
