Robert Lieber Obituary

Our dear brother Robert Allen Lieber passed away, too soon, on March 25, 2022, from colon cancer. He started life in Painesville, Ohio on May 24, 1956, the youngest of seven children, born to Charles C. and Jeannette Bobel Lieber.He attended Harvey High School where he was on the track and field team, graduating in 1974. After a short break, he joined the Airforce and was honorably discharged after four years of service. He then moved to Lorain, Ohio and worked for nearly twenty years at our uncle’s business, Bobel’s Office Supplies. And lastly in 1999, he moved to Anchorage, Alaska, working at Spenards Building Supplies and fulfilling his dream of leading a solo life, in the solitude and grandeur of nature.Rob is survived by his siblings, Cheryl Lieber Morick Haught, Annette Lieber (Harold) Highland, Melisande Lieber (Jeff) Heckman, Charles C. Lieber Jr., Renee Lieber (Ken) Haffey and numerous nieces and nephews.Rob was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonita Jane Lieber Stubbs.On Saturday April 23, 2022, at 1:00 pm, a memorial with military honors is planned at Rob’s gravesite in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville, Ohio. Following that, a gathering for family and friends will be held in the lower level of St. Mary’s Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville, at 2:00 pm.
