Robert Raymond Wantz born June 4, 1932, passed away December 15, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 89. He is preceded by his father Robert E. (Lois) Wantz, mother Nellie (Silvernail), brothers Ron Wantz, Raymond E. (Josephine), sisters Glenda (Ward) and Judy (Hank) and his son Robert R. (Melanie) Wantz, Jr.Survived by Lisa (Jim) Osborne, Daniel (Marybeth) Wantz, John Wantz (Kathy), Rachel (Shawn) Turschak, Jim (Amy) Wantz, Renee Disanto, Sarah (Tom) Schapira.Born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Robert grew up in Geauga County and was the son of Robert E. Wantz and Nellie Silvernail. After high school he joined the Air Force. He then went on to graduate Hiram College where he was also a standout football player. After graduating college, Robert went on to attend Cleveland-Marshall Law School. He began his law practice in 1963. He was the father of eight children, grandfather of 23 and great grandfather of 20.He will also be greatly missed by close friends Deb Spencer and Mark Armstrong.Calling hours will be at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street,Chardon, Ohio on January 22, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
