Terrence "Terry" Mathis Sr.

1960 - 2023

Terrence Mathis Sr., age 63 of Willoughby, OH died unexpectedly on November 16, 2023.Terry was born on February 11, 1960 in Cleveland, OH to Truman and Geraldine Mathis (nee: O'Deens).He was a kind soul with many friends in the neighborhood of North Willoughby where he grew up most of his entire life. Terry was a student of Willoughby South High School and then entered the Army where he was honorably discharged for medical issues.Terry spent most of his adult career as a CNC Machinist.He met his first wife Tami Ray in 1980 where they later gave birth to his only child T.J. (Terry Jr.)As years passed he enjoyed playing pool and fishing. Terry went on to later meet his love, Kathy. They lived together for the last 15 years in Willoughby. Terry was optimistic and always made the best out of what he had. He was caring and always looking out for and helping his neighbors, friends and family.Terry leaves behind a son, Terrence P. Mathis Jr., his companion and love, Kathryn Rogers, sister, Sharon Mathis, niece, Kristin (Mathis) [Shane] Rosenberry, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. He also leaves behind his stepsons, Patrick Rogers and David Rogers.He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Geraldine Mathis and brother, Daniel Mathis.Calling hours will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 1-3 PM with a service to follow at Davis- Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, OH. Friends and family will then gather at 37825 Vine St. Willoughby following the service.
