Thomas "Tom" Harting

Thomas "Tom" Harting, age 71, of Madison, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at UH Cleveland Hospital with his loving and dedicated wife by his side. He was born November 26, 1951 to Norrene (Springer) and Arnold Harting in Cleveland. Tom was united in marriage with Robin Varketta on August 20, 2000, and together, they enjoyed 23 years of life with all of its joys and challenges.Tom was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Navy. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed yardwork and travel, from cruises to Disney to exploring down South. He worked for Chevrolet as a finance manager and was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Church. Tom was a fighter. For years, he fought through illness even to his last breath. Most of all, Tom will be remembered for his love as an excellent provider for his family, a wonderful father, grandfather, and beloved husband. Tom is survived by his wife, Robin; children, Victoria (William) Lawrence and Garrison Michael (Monica) Varketta; Grandchildren, River, Camden, Mason, Sawyer; brother, Richard (Cheryl) Harting; and sister, Cathy (Brian) Sullivan; mother-in-law, Meryl Ann Pfleger; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. A funeral mass will take place 12pm Thursday, October 12, 2023 at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor, OH 44060. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
