Billy Carroll Obituary

Celebration of Billy Carroll's life, 40, Royal Palm Drive, Edgewater, who died Saturday at Bert Fish Medical Center, will be 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, at Settle-Wilder Chapel, with the Rev. Benjamin Ling, New Smyrna Beach Christian Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born in Washington, D.C., Billy came to this area in 1997 from LaPlata, Md. He was a sheet metal worker in the commercial heating and air conditioning industry until he was disabled by an injury at work. An avid Washington Redskins and NASCAR fan, Billy also enjoyed barbecues and seafood feasts, especially when they included crabs, and playing poker. First and foremost, however, he loved his children and family. Survivors include his wife, Farrah; two sons, Jacob, Waldorf, Md., but currently residing in Germany, and Joey, Edgewater; two daughters, Devin Crook, Poway, Calif., and Emily Carroll, Edgewater; sister, Sheila Zimmerman, South Daytona; his mother and stepfather, Diane and Kenneth Crete, Edgewater; his father and stepmother, William and Kathy Carroll, Citrus Springs; maternal grandmother, Marie Harbaugh, New Smyrna Beach; paternal grandmother, Helen Carroll, Mechanicsville, Md.; mother-in-law, Carol Morgan, Edgewater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

It is still very hard to believe that Billy will not be stopping by to visit us or call us on the phone. He always would keep in touch with us. That was only one of the things that made him so very special to us. He had a gift of laughter that only so few in this world have. We miss him deeply and love him so much. To Bill, Diane, Sheila and Farrah, I know that this has to be the hardest thing for you and I hope that one day his memories and his gift of laughter will comfort you. We love and miss you guys too.

I still can't believe that such a great person is gone from this world. I know that somewhere in Heaven, he is now a bright shining presence. James and I were always happy when Billy and Farrah came to see us, and we hope that Farrah and the kids will still come and consider us family, too. My heart goes out to Farrah, and Diane, my favorite Cuz. Our love and prayers are with you.

Billy was my husband, my best friend, the father of my children, my teacher, my world. There is no memory that will ever be forgotten by me or Emily and Joey (even though they are so young). His love will forever stay in my life, my heart, and in our house. He is missed like no one can imagine.

Thank you to everyone who has shown their support and prayers through this most tragic time in my life.

I love you Billy and always will!

I am so sorry to hear of 'little' Billy's passing. I have not seen him for years, but have some great memories of Carroll family crab feasts with him and Sheila. I am sure he and Uncle Mike are watching over all of us and singing "Hail to the Redskins". I cannot imagine how much he will be missed by all of you. Larry also sends his deepest sympathies. Our prayers are with you.

My love and prayers go out to all that knew Billy. To know him was to love him.

He will be missed more than words can say. Billy loved his family so much and spent every second he could with his children. He was by far the best father we have ever met. He will never be forgotten.

Though I have only heard of Billy through his wife Farrah, he seemed to be a wonderful man, father and husband. I regret that I never had the pleasure to actually meet him, but I know that as wonderful as his wife is that he must have been a very special person for them to share such a deep love and respect for one another. My deepest most heart felt sympathies go out to his wife, children and other family members. God blessed us with one of his most precious angels for us to cherish while on this earth before calling him back home. Please rests assure that he is now at peace and will be with each of you everyday as he rejoices in heaven with the love you once shared. I will keep you all in my prayers and may God bless you with the strength to carry on in his precious memory.

Billy was a great father, wonderful husband, and good friend. I never saw him without a smile. I'm a friend of the family and have shared many BBQ's, with Billy's FAMOUS Baked Beans, and their children's birthday parties with his wonderful HOT wings. Billy will be very missed. Farrah, Emily, Joey, and family are in my prayers.

I am really sorry to hear of Billy's death. Sharon & I talked with him when we came to visit Marie. We loved his sense of humor and the comfort that he gave Marie. My thoughts are with the family.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with the family. I have fond memories of growing up with Billy and all the things our families did together. Unfortunately, the last time I saw Billy was at my Uncle Mike's funeral. Him and his wife drove up here to say goodbye to Mike. I only wish I could have come there to be with the family during this difficult time. Billy was a great guy and I can only hope your memories of him will carry you forward. I am sure Billy and Mike are in heaven talking NASCAR! God Bless and I am thinking of everyone. Love, Angie
