Blanche Cooper Obituary

Blanche M. "Honey" Cooper, of South Daytona, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 26, 2014. She was 92 years old. She was born in Camden, New Jersey, daughter of John and Lillian Murray. She married the love of her life, Daniel B. Cooper in Atlantic City, New Jersey. They moved to Miami, FL in 1948 and later to New Smyrna Beach in 1984. Blanche was a retired bookkeeper in the banking industry and had a passion for traveling. She had been to almost every major country in the world and collected many treasures along the way. Her most prized possession was her family and friends. Blanche spent the final years of her life in DeLand and South Daytona. She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel B. Cooper and daughter Tammy C. Hayes. She leaves behind a son, Daniel Cooper (Matia) of North Carolina, Six Grandchildren - Timothy, Andrew, Katherine (Gregory), Marianne (Richard), Craig and Bryon. Also to cherish her memory are her five great grandchildren, Tabatha, Tearzah, Katherine, Cynthia and Emily and two great-great grandchildren, Jayden and Sophia. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm Friday, March 14, at the Good Samaritan FL Lutheran Retirement Center, 450 N. McDonald Ave., DeLand with Pastor Walter Gatton Officiating. The family would like to send special thanks to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler and her friend Jean Howerton for all of the special care they showed for Blanche.
