Carol Bielefeldt Obituary

Carol L. Bielefeldt, 79, passed away on July 21, 2017. She was born Carol Lillian Rule in Birmingham, AL to Hugh K. and Emma Hayden Rule on November 21, 1937. In 1940, her family moved to Pensacola, FL where her father was a plumbing contractor at the naval base. Approximately in 1946, they moved to Ormond Beach where her father was a contractor in Elinor Village. Carol attended St. Paul's School and Seabreeze High School, upon graduation she was accepted to Florida State University's Nursing Program and later graduated in 1959. In August of 1959, she married Earl Bielefeldt at Our Lady of Lourdes in Ormond Beach. In November of 1960 Carol and her 10 week old son journeyed to South Ruislip, England where her husband was stationed at an Air Force Command Post. After a year, Earl and Carol moved to Beaconsfield where Earl was assigned to the Command Post at High Wycombe. After for years in England and two more children, they transferred to Riverside, CA then to Rantoul, IL, later to Grand Forks, ND, then finally Carol and the children returned to Ormond Beach while Earl was sent to Vietnam. Carol worked at various hospitals in and around Daytona Beach and worked with hospice for more than 10 years. Carol is survived by her husband Earl, children Stephen, Michelle, Paul, and Kelly, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to hospice of Volusia/Flagler counties. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Earl and all the family, we were so saddened to hear of Carol's passing. We send our prayers and love to all. I was a classmate with Carol at St Pauls and Have been blessed to have known her all these years. She was a wonderful kind and helpful friend as is her husband Earl. We are in No. Carolina and will not be able to attend the mass Saturday. We pray you will feel God's strength and love during this difficult time We will miss her.
