It has been 59 years since graduating from Charlie's AC/Refrigeration class and hardly a day goes by that I don't think what I owe this great man.

Words cannot express my indebtedness to Mr. Maybeck. As a high school dropout, I enrolled in the second HVAC course in 65-66. About halfway through the program Mr. Maybeck told me I was not suited to be in the HVAC program and with his encouragement and the many father son talks he convinced me to get the GED and enroll in DBJC. All because of Mr. Maybeck I went on to graduate with a master's degree in engineering. Thank you, Mr. Maybeck, from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Aunt Anne and Family,
We will always cherish the wonderful memories of the times we spent together with Uncle Charlie. He so enjoyed entertaining us with his funny stories and jokes. Uncle Charlie was proud to be known as the "rock" of the family, and everyone knew they could count on him for anything. He was always there for our Mom in her time of need.
Words cannot express how deeply saddened we are. We will miss him very much.

What an honorble man he was! I was a student of his in 1970 when I attended Mary Karl Vocational School at DBCC. He was a great teacher and friend to those of us that attended his AC class. May he R.I.P.

Charlie was one of my volunteers at the Guardian ad Litem Program many years ago. He was a strong, kind man that had a heart of gold. May peace come to his family during this most difficult time. God Bless, you will be missed Charlie!

Charlie was an amazing force in vocational education, touching many lives and creating many careers in the process. He was the architect of the then-Mary Karl and now, the Daytona State College HVAC program, actually bringing in tools and equipment from his own shop to help furnish what was needed in the early days of the program. God speed, Mr. Maybeck...and thank you!

I was in Charles 1st Air Cond. class at DBJC in 1964-5. Charles was one of the best instructors and person one could know. My deepest sympathy to family. Sincerely, Bill Coleman
