Harry Clayton Matthews

Harry Clayton Matthews passed away in Titusville, Florida at age 99. He was born February 9, 1916 in Buford, Georgia, and married Carolyn E. Oliver in Jasper, Alabama in 1934. They had three children: Jerrie Drawdy (deceased), H. Dennis (Titusville, FL), and Gary G. (Setauket, NY). Harry served in the army during World War II in the Pacific, and moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1946 where he lived for many years. He worked for the Florida East Coast and Southern Pacific railroads, and after retirement enjoyed repairing clocks. Harry moved in 2013 to a senior living facility in Titusville, where he died on July 3, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn, who died in 1999, and is survived by his two sons, six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
