Jaimie Foley Obituary

A memorial celebration for Jaimie Lea Boel Foley, 28, who passed away suddenly, May 16, 2017 at Halifax Medical Center, will be held Monday, May 29, 2017, 5:00 pm at 201 Oceanshore Blvd., Ormond Beach. Please park at Grace Lutheran Church on the corner of Neptune and Oceanshore. A native and lifelong resident of Ormond Beach, Jaimie was a graduate of Seabreeze High School. As a freshman, she helped take the Sandcrab Soccer team to the state championship playing goalie. Jaimie had a passion for surfing and at one time in her life was ranked among the top 10 female surfers in the world. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, the Christian Surfers and the Eastern Surfing Association. There was also a special place in Jaimie's heart for animals – she cherished her Jack Russell, Maui of 14 years. She was no stranger to music and could play the drums, guitar and piano by ear. Jaimie was also a gifted artist. In lieu of other remembrances, the family asks that donations be made in Jaimie's memory. Please email Meagan Foley at [email protected] for further information. The donations will be used by Eastern Surfing Association for a memorial surf contest in Jaimie's name, the details of which will be announced later. The family also asks that anyone reading this be kind, accepting and inclusive. If you know anyone suffering with substance abuse, ask to take him or her to lunch or for a walk on the beach. Advocate and vote for judges, legislators and administrators who understand complex social issues and will make decisions in the vein of kindness, acceptance and inclusiveness. It could make all the difference in a life. Jaimie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sanoma Robertson and James Robertson; maternal great grandmother, Freda Homsey; and paternal great grandparents, James and Zelma Foley. Among those mourning Jaimie's passing: her mother, Vicki R. Foley; her father, James Craig Foley; two sisters, Meagan Foley and Summer Foley; her paternal grandmother, Gwen Foley; paternal grandfather, Jim Foley (Connie); five aunts, Denise Rossi (Jeff), Kim Fisher (Jan), Janice Hurst (Scott), Carol Davis, and Jaimie Roberts; an uncle, Tom Robertson (Kim); numerous cousins and friends. Condolences and memories of Jaimie may be shared with the family at www.dalewoodwardfuneralhomes.com.

My heart hurts for the entire
Foley family. Jamie will be missed as she had a vibrant and sensitive soul. She may be most remembered for her surfing accomplishments but I recall her extreme competitive spirit during Jr. Lifeguards. She dove for those flags and could not be touched. Jamie was also adorable during cotillion making sure to get the escort she wanted by leaving nothing to chance! We are all better for having known her. Though it was much too brief. Peace and Love to you all; Vicki, Craig, Meagan, and Summer.

Vicki, Craig, Meagan and Summer our hearts are broken for all of you and Jaimie. We will always remember Jaimie as that precocious little girl who lovingly called us Aunt Croissant and Uncle Finster. Jaimie struggled in this life but she is now surfing in the heavens with a big smile and flying free. We love you all.
