Judson Fiebiger Obituary

The Rev. Judson E. Fiebiger, 100, entered into glory Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. The oldest of 11 children, Rev. Fiebiger was born in Versailles, Ohio, to Esther and Alma Fiebiger. Judson graduated from Defiance College, Ohio, in 1928, and Yale Divinity School, New Haven, Conn., in 1933. He served pastorates in Toledo, Ohio, Stanfordville, N.Y., Albany, N.Y., Utica, N.Y., and Brooklyn, N.Y., through 1947. For the next 24 years, he was the state of Iowa Conference Superintendent of United Church of Christ. Over these years he served as a trustee of Grinnell College, Iowa, and on numerous other boards and committees, many as president or chairman. He and his wife, Mary, retired to Daytona Beach in 1972. He then became associate minister of Seabreeze United Church of Christ, retiring a second time in June 1975. Following retirement he served as chairman of the deacons for five years. Other local interests included vice president of Tourist Club Board, vice president of Civic Music Board, president of Executive Club, treasurer of Pendelton Club Board, and vice president of Halifax Kiwanis Club. Judson was a 32nd degree Mason. He was predeceased Dec. 7, 1994, by his wife of 65 years, Mary Denison Fiebiger; Jan. 27, 2004, by daughter-in-law, Pearl Fiebiger, Plant City; three brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by sons, William, Plant City, and Warren (Paula), Kalamazoo, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Judson touched many lives across the country and although he will be missed, we rejoice in the fullness of his life, the fond memories, and the legacy left behind as he now rests in peace with his Lord, and beloved ones. At his request he was cremated. Memorial service will be at a later date. Memorial donations requested to Seabreeze United Church, 501 N. Wild Olive Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32118, or Bishop's Glen, 900 11th St., Holly Hill, FL 32117.
