Marshall Hoffman Obituary

Marshall Ernest Hoffman
July 22, 1957 - Nov. 21, 2019
Marshall Ernest Hoffman (62), son of Ernest and Marian Hoffman, was born on July 22, 1957 and passed away at home in Daytona Beach, Florida on November 21, 2019. He grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from Washington Senior High School. Marshall was a gifted artist and could effortlessly sketch identical portraits of people. He could make portraits and wood carvings come to life. The local university art professors invited Marshall to the college to view his portfolio and were genuinely impressed. But, Marshall was not impressed with going to college. Marshall learned about construction and fine wood-working skills from his father and pursued a career in the construction industry. Marshall enjoyed fishing, live music, and concerts. He had a huge heart and would help anyone who asked. His daily goal was to make at least one person smile and laugh.
Marshall is survived by his brother Loren Hoffman, from Naples, Florida and a host of cousins and friends. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Marian Hoffman, grandparents M/M LaMont Reichelt & M/M William Hoffman, and baby Brittany his niece. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial on Sunday, December 8th at 3:00 pm at Wanda June's, 1126 Riverside Drive, Holly Hill, Florida, 32117 (located directly across the street from Sunrise Park) * (Additional parking at Sunrise Park). Memorials in Marshall's name may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, Va. 22202. 1-800-DIABETES (800-342-2383).

Marshall was my Friend many years. Recently he drove me to my Cardiologist. I had made an early morning appointment and he drove me there because I'm 91 years old. This way I wouldn't be stuck in rush-hour traffic. He is a Power of Example.
A lot of us will Miss him.
Sorry for your Loss of your Little Brother, Loren.

I've known Marshall since he came to Daytona 1998. He was a kind soul with a big heart. He was always willing to help out in a time of need no matter what the circumstances. He loved to talk, and never met a stranger. I miss him more as each day passes, he was my good buddy...
RIP Dear Friend!

Marshall was one of the warmest, most sincere individuals I've ever known. I knew Marshall for 16 years. We had many lengthy conversations but never even sat down for a cup of coffee because he was always working. Then, I "coincidentally" ran into Marshall on November 2nd at the Halifax Art Show and actually, after all these years, sat down to break bread with him. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to know Marshall and for that recent treat to share a meal with him. Marshall will live on in my mind as one of the kindest people I've ever known. He was honest and hard working. Fly high among the angels, dear friend.

Marshall called me big brother and I called him little brother for as long as I can remember. This was our first picture together in our backyard in Sioux Falls. Marshall was always the handsome one so much so, he was actually payed to model men's underwear when he was a teenager. We became close friends these past years and made many plans for our future together. I'm so very grateful and blessed that Marshall shared his life with me. I learned a lot from him, too. I will try to model his kindness by having a goal of making one person smile and laugh every day.

Little brother, I promise to pray for your soul every day. May your kind soul rest in eternal peace until we are united again. I love and miss you so much! Your big brother.

I met Marshall about 16 years ago. He Always had a Smile and a kind word. He and I would see each other at Picnics, Concerts at the Bandshell and other Festivals. About 3 years ago he became my Maintenance man for my rental homes. He would Always be creative in fixing a problem or repairing something. We would talk or text each other almost everyday the past year.
He was always thinking and coming up with his next Masterpiece.
He started having issues with his Diabetes the past year. He would be doing Holistic remedies he had read about. He continued to work and live the active Lifestyle he was used to. We went to the movies and Bandshell several times this year. He went with a group of us to celebrate my birthday at Hamburger Mary's.
I still pick up the phone to call him these past few weeks.
I guess God needed an Angel even though he was an Angel on Earth...!!!
He will be Greatly Missed and Never Forgotten. He was Definitely One of a Kind.
I am Praying for you at this time of
Loss, Loren.
