Mary Diamont Obituary

Mary (McEachern) Diamont, Marblehead, Mass., and Ormond Beach, died surrounded by her loving family on October 27, 2006. She was 82. Born and raised in Woburn, Mass., she graduated from St. Charles High School in Woburn and went on to graduate from the Massachusetts School of Art. Mary was a wonderful watercolor artist and had a great appreciation for art and literature. She was a world traveler as well as an enthusiast of both tennis and golf. She had a full and active social life which included memberships in many social and civic organizations. She was a member of the Corinthian Yacht Club and the Tedesco Country Club, both of Marblehead, The Plantation Bay Country Club, Ormond Beach, the Richard III Society, the Red Hat Society, and was a past docent at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead. Mary was a communicant at Our Lady Star of the Sea parish in Marblehead and St. Mary's parish in Ormond Beach. Above all else, Mary loved her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. Because of her devotion and care, family members are blessed with a wealth of beautiful and happy memories. She enjoyed great relationships and always had a kind word for those in need. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, John. Their 59 years together were filled with love, laughter, children and a bond that many are not lucky enough to share. She is survived by her six children, daughter, Mary, and her husband, David Danielson, Bedford, N.H., son, John, and his wife Elly, Marblehead, daughter, Chris and her companion, Anthony Wyner, New Durham, N.H., daughter, Colleen, Salem, daughter, Barbara, and her husband, Todd Smith, Califon, N.J., and daughter, Jayne, Salem. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed in body, but her spirit will always be in our hearts. Funeral from the Eustis & Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, October 30, at the funeral home.
