Michael Pirolo Obituary



Michael Pirolo, 87, Deland, Florida, died on January 30, 2018. Michael was born in New York City in 1932, to Italian immigrants, Thomas and Vincenza, the fourth of five children. He served in the US army as a surgical technician in a MASH unit during the Korean War. For many years, Mike provided for his family on Long Island, New York, as a machinist. In 1974 the family relocated to Deland, FL where he continued with his craft at Ardmore Farms, then for the Brunswick Corp. until his retirement in 1995. Mike was a loving husband to Phylis Pirolo for nearly 20 years. He was also father to six children: Denise Lewis, Deland, FL; Peter Pirolo, Port Orange, FL; Michael Pirolo (Amy), Woodbine IA; Lisa Ghofrani (Ben), Orlando, FL; Christopher Pirolo (Lisa), San Antonio, TX; and Susan Pirolo, Orange City, FL; and he had five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He also had two stepsons: Larry Oxley, Gravette, AK, and Jeff Oxley, Goshen Arkansas. Military service and interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 3 PM, on April 13, 2018.
