Michelle Goodrich Obituary

Memorial service for Michelle Laux Goodrich, 43, Ormond Beach, will be today (Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006), at 5 p.m. with Father Christopher Kulig as celebrant. Shelly was born Sept. 14, 1962, in Parma, Ohio, to Jeffery J. and Emily A. (Dedrick) Laux, and was called home by God on Thurs-day, Feb. 23, 2006. The Laux Family moved to this area in 1977 from Olmsted Falls, Ohio. Shelly dedicated her life to the service of others. She began this service as a cloistered nun, Sister Clare Marie, at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Birmingham, Ala., with Mother Angelica. Shelly continued her devotion to helping others as a critical cardiac care nurse at Memorial Hospital in Ormond Beach. In addition to her humanitarian work, she enjoyed the beach, boating, gardening and spending quality time with her daughter Mary. Left to cherish their memories of Shelly are, her daughter, Mary Goodrich; parents, Jeff and Emily Laux, Ormond Beach; sister, Kathy Moore, Chebanse, Ill.; brothers, Dan Laux, Daytona Beach, and Jeffery Laux Jr., Orlando; grandmother, Marie Dedrick, and Godfather, Thomas Dedrick, both of North Royalton, Ohio. Dear Jeff and Emily, My deepest sympathy to you both and all members of your family. I knew Michelle as Sister Clare Marie at Our Lady of Angels Monastary. She was always very special and I remember so well her laughter, her wit, and her devotion to God. I have a Rosary tape of all the good sisters from that period in time, and Sister Clare is there. Jeff & Emily:

I was very sad to learn from my mother of Shelly's passing and your loss. It has been many years since those seemingly always sunny childhood days of fun & friendship with Shelly on our Redwood Dr cul-de-sac. I am sorry that I never had a chance to reminisce with her about them. From what I've read online here and heard from my mother, it is clear that Shelly was not only much loved, but was devoted in her service and comfort others.

i want to extend my condolences to the family. i work with michelle at ormond memorial, and she was a wonderful nurse, always careing and i can see her beautiful smile as i'm sitting here. i also had a chance to meet her daughter mary in which i had a chance to take care of when she was a patient on the 3rd fl. everytime i see michelle i would always ask about mary and how she awas doing. i am very saddened of your loss, but we can't ever ask WHY because only god know's best. it will always be a special place in my heart for michelle i will miss her dearly. im so sorry once again for your loss.
