Patricia Thompson Obituary

Patricia (T) Anne Thompson

South Daytona - Patricia Anne Thompson (aka "T"), 91, of South Daytona, FL passed away peacefully the afternoon of January 7, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband Harry, a retired MPDC Police Officer and retired Marine, her parents Peter and Ethel, older brothers Peter III, Edward, Charles, Albert, younger sister Barbara Joan, and 2 grandchildren, Joseph and Patrick.

Pat was born and raised in Washington, DC and during her working years was employed briefly with the FBI and then with the Metropolitan Police (MPDC). She raised her young family in Aspen Hill, MD and loved the family vacations spent on the beaches of Nags Head, NC. After moving the family to South Daytona in 1973, Pat was active with the Citizens Alert, Helping Hands and the SDPD. She absolutely cherished the many friendships she made being a part of those organizations.

Pat is survived by her daughters Patricia O'Neill of Annapolis, MD, Kim Gauthier of Miami, FL, and son Daniel (wife Sue) of Viera, FL. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandkids as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She would like to thank her dear friends Mary and Kerry Smith of NC, Gary and Sue Wandelt of South Daytona and "honorary daughter" Cindy Ogle Harper of Port Orange for their loving friendship over the years. And a very special thank you to John (nephew) and Gigi Valaer whom she would be forever grateful for their kind and generous spirit.

There will be no service as Pat requested. www.cardwellfuneral.com

It's been a year now since Pat left us and the loss is felt in so many ways. She was always fun to email with, since we moved out of South Daytona. We had a variety of topics to discuss. She was well read and totally up to date on about every subject. Her mind was sharp and her memory was right on. I miss her greatly.

We've known Pat for decades & a neighbor across the street we both lived on for almost as long (she found the house there we're still living in, guess she wanted us close which was fine with us) Pat was serve-minded & a grrrrreat volunteer for many of the projects I had for the police dept. & community of South Daytona; a dear friend to us all...
Her passing brings sorrow & joy for not having her here but knowing that she is at peace & we will all be reunited when our time comes... Thanks Pat for all...

Pat will be greatly missed by many. She was open, honest & absolutely the best person I have ever known. She was seriously interested in anything you wanted to talk about. Her sense of humor was sweet & touching. She was such a lot of fun to everyone of any age. My daughters & grandchildren positively adored her. She was special to everyone. There was a unique quality about her that made you just want to enjoy her company. She asked for nothing but your kindness and respect. We have lost a most valuable dear friend. THE SMITH FAMILY
