Patricia VanPetten Obituary

Patricia Ann VanPetten, 71, Palm Coast, passed away June 7, 2018, at home with her family at her side. She was born in Port Jefferson, NY and had resided in this area for the past 26 years, moving here from Suffolk County, NY. She had worked as a medical secretary for many years until her retirement and she was a member of Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church in Palm Coast. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor William Douthwaite, III officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to Vitas Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. VanPetten in July 2017. She is survived by two daughters, Traci Rae Clark (Christopher), St. Augustine, Kristi Lynn VanPetten (Henry Hopper); sister, Nancy Gannon (Dennis), all of Palm Coast; two nieces, Kimberly and Lisa Gannon, both of Ponte Vedra, two grandsons, Andrew and Christopher Clark , and two grandmonkeys, Claus and Tia. St. Johns Family is in charge of arrangements.

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR PAT FOR YRS. I AM 77 AS OF OCT. 2, 2024. PAT AND I WERE BEST FRIENDS SINCE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND ALL THE WAY THROUGH HER MARRIAGE TO HARRY. I WAS IN HER WEDDING PARTY ALONG WITH HER SISTER. LAST I KNEW WAS WHEN SHE CALLED TO TELL ME SHE HAD LUNG CANCER. I STARTED CRYING AND SHE TOLD ME NOT TO AND AFTER THAT SHE CALLED AT OTHER TIMES TO TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON. HER MOM WAS LIKE MY SECOND MOM AND I SLEPT OVER HER HOUSE IN ROCKY POINT FOR MOST NIGHTS. IF NANCY SEES THIS MY EMAIL IS [email protected].
I AM DEVASTATED TO FINALLY FIND OUT AND I CAN'T STOP CRYING. WE WERE CLOSE LIKE SISTERS. GOD, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF HER AND I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN. CAN'T BELIEVE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS THAT IT COULD HURT THIS BAD. LOVE YOU PAT AND WE HAD A LOT OF LAUGHS AND GOOD TIMES FOR MANY YRS. BRINGS ME BACK TO A REAL HAPPY TIME. BLESS YOU AND CANT BELIEVE HOW MUCH I MISS YOU NOW. I WILL PRAY TO GOD AND TELL HIM TO TELL YOU THAT I HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR ALMOST 55 YRS. TO KEVIN MORRISSEY. WE HAVE A DAUGHTER LISA AND A SON SEAN. WE ALSO STILL LIVE IN PORT JEFFERSON NEAR OUR HIGH SCHOOL NEVER HAD ANOTHER FRIEND AS CLOSE AS WE WERE. LOVE YOU.

Gone to soon, I met and enjoyed conversation and her smile while working at her physicians office. So will be very missed. Rest in Peace.
